There are no ifs and or buts, being put in a lockdown can be exhausting. Vital, obviously, yet exhausting. Whether you’re living solo or sharing with flatmates, family or partners, it can get very dull very quickly. Significantly more so in case, you’re one of the millions of people to have been placed on some colourful variation of temporary leave with online courses!

Let’s be honest, we’d all rather be going about our normal routines whether that’s eating out, going to the gym, going on holiday etc.. I do anyway have a recommendation of how to fill your newly discovered available time… upskill and gain some new useful knowledge! Maybe you’ve been talking about learning  Art and Design or you’re interested in photography but never found the time or you always just end up wondering what is that you actually want to do. Well, whatever it is, now you have the time! 

And you also have the means. I’ve put together my top 9 online courses for the Creative Soul during the lockdown. I know it’s not the time to be splashing the cash for most of us, so to make it onto the list, the course not only had to offer top-quality content, but it also had to be reasonably priced or mainly free.

I found the perfect course for the creative soul at Coursera. It is a course of  Creativity, Innovation, and Change. The total duration of the course is 28 hours and it is absolutely free of cost.

Imagination: The missing mystery of philosophy by The Open University 

The Open University (OU) is a public research university and the largest university in the UK for undergraduate education.

 The majority of the OU’s undergraduate students are based in the United Kingdom and principally study off-campus; many of its courses (both undergraduate and postgraduate) can also be studied anywhere in the world. 

Have you always wanted to learn The missing mystery of philosophy? We got you covered. The Open University has a course of Imagination: The missing mystery of philosophy. The total duration of the course is 20 hours and it is absolutely free and that’s a great price. 

 Creation of an Attractive and Responsible Brand by Domestika

The course I found for the creative mind is Art and Design in the Digital Age. The total duration of the course is 8 weeks (4-5 hours each week) for absolutely nothing.

Colour Theory for Artists and Designer by Alison 

Alison was founded in Galway, Ireland, in 2007 and has grown organically to become a major force in free online education and skills training. Today, with more than 15 million learners in 195 countries, Alison is changing how the world learns and up-skills. 

Alison is free of charge to you.

The course for the creative artist inside you is Colour Theory for Artists and Designer. Duration for the course is 3 hours and it’s absolutely free.

Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life by CreativeLive
