Jaswant Meenakar

Experience the 500-year-old art of Meenakari with the master artist Mr. Jaswant Kumar Meenakar who has showcased his talent across Asia and the United States. Having a rich experience of 55 years, his outstanding work has taken him places and he has brought many prestigious titles home-like National & State Merit Awards.

Meenakari work originated in Persia. Later introduced in India through the Mughal invaders. However, over time, it has been frequently associated with the culturally vibrant state of Rajasthan. This connection to the region has sparked the creation of distinct looks and approaches that capture the rich history and distinctive aesthetic of the area. From the bylanes of the old Pink City (old Jaipur City), we bring to you Master artist Jaswant Kumar Meenakar. The art of enamelling is a tradition that has been running in his family for over 450 years now.

Meeting Point

The experience happens at the artist’s home. The exact meeting point is shared after booking.

Other Information

Meenakari is a 2–3 day process, so during the workshop you practise on one pendant but take home a ready one of similar size. If you stay longer, we can get your own piece completed and delivered. Guests share 1–2 pendant bases during the activity, but each participant takes home an individual finished pendant as a souvenir.
