However, it is one of the toughest things to do. But it is NOT impossible! If you have been awe-struck by embroidery, learn the intricacies of it in this Hand Embroidery Workshop.
Rough Schedule of the Hand Embroidery Workshop
First 5 mins – Introduction
Next 10 mins – Basic understanding of transferring techniques, hoop backing, stitches, embroidery hacks, tips & tricks.
Next 1 hour – Co-creation with the artist
Last 15 mins – Wrap up and showcasing the created artwork
What you’ll do
- Understand different types of embroidery techniques including Beginner Embroidery Stitches
- Learn about materials, colors, and threads used for the same
- Study the Embroidery Basics including design transferring techniques, hoop backing & other finishing touches.
- Hands-on experience on Embroidery Lettering
- Also be equipped with Embroidery Hacks, Tips & Tricks throughout.
- Work on cloth and embroidery needles, hoop and floss
Materials/Tools required for the Hand Embroidery Workshop
- Embroidery floss/stranded cotton
- Embroidery hoop – any diameter
- Fabric (preferably cotton)
- Embroidery needle (Crewel) – any size (preferably between size 5 and 7)
About the Artist
Aparna Agrawal is originally from Delhi but is currently living in Indore after her marriage. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from NIFT. Then, she graduated from the London College of Fashion with a master’s degree in Fashion Design Management. She is a self-taught artist and her interest in hand embroidery piqued during her fashion design course. She has been embroidering for over 5 years now (on and off), only to take it up professionally last year. Art has always been a part of her life as she loved to draw and sketch. She finds inspiration in nature, abstraction, and minimalism.
